How to Play Wordle

Wordle is a popular word puzzle game that challenges players to guess a hidden word. Although the traditional format is five letter words in six tries or less, here at Custom Wordle, you can create Wordles that don't have those limitations. Regardless, here’s how you play any type of Wordle:

Wordle Rules

• Make a Guess: Start by typing any word and submit it as your guess.
• Color Feedback: After each guess, the color of the tiles will change to show how close your guess was to the word.
• Green: A letter is exactly right (correct letter in the correct spot).
• Yellow: A letter is in the secret word but in the wrong spot.
• Gray: A letter is not in the word in any spot.
• Continue Guessing: Use the clues from the tile colors to make better guesses. You have a set number of attempts to guess the word correctly.

Strategies

Here are some strategies to help you win:

• Start with words that have a variety of common letters.
• Pay attention to the placement of the yellow letters in your next guesses.
• Avoid repeating letters that have appeared gray unless you think you made a mistake.

Winning the Game

You win the game by correctly guessing the word within whatever number of attempts are allowed for your custom wordle. If you don't guess the word, the game will reveal the word at the end of the game.
